Medical Aid

Supervasi provides year-round medical aid and free medicines to the tribals (Adivasis) of Yeoor, Maharashtra. We diagnose problems, provide Ayurvedic and Alopathic medicines and escort the patients for the various tests required in nearby hospitals. We have trained our tribal apprentices in the various support skills required.

We have also conducted dozens of free health camps, and provided the required treatment and followups. We have used our DoctorMaa system to provide personalized medical aid to residents, and plan to expand the system country-wide.

DoctorMaa Medical System

Supervasi has designed the DoctorMaa Medical System which allows personalized Medical Aid to be given to tribals residents, using AI-based algorithms to detect symtoms and diseases based on reported problems, and then automatically suggest medicines.

DoctorMaa is possible thanks our dedicated tribal volunteers that enter data into the system, by door-to-door collection and bulk data entry of patients from medical camps. Low-cost Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine is provided to beneficiaries free-of-cost or low-cost, based on their need.

Rotary Lung Camp III, February 2016

Supervasi conducted a third Lung Checkup Camp in collaboration with Rotary Club of Thane North, for the residents of Yeoor forest, Mahrashatra. The goal of the camp was to identify and help treat Tuberculosis (TB) patients in Yeoor.

The camp was entirely managed by our tribal apprentices, from promotion to medicine distribution. In addition to calling patients to the Yeoor Center, volunteers and doctors went from pada to pada in a vehicle, and were thus able to reach new patients from remote villages.

Totally 61 patients were screened for lung disease, 10 suspects were sent for further testing and the rest were given free medicines. Special thanks to Dr. Prabal Howal. The event was sponsored by Rotary International Foundation and Lupin Foundation and supported by Thane Muncipal Corporation.

Rotary Lung Camp II, November 2015

Supervasi conducted a second Lung Checkup Camp in collaboration with Rotary Club of Thane North, for the residents of Yeoor forest, Mahrashatra. The goal of the camp was to identify and help treat Tuberculosis (TB) patients in Yeoor.

We tested 105 new patients with complaints similar to that of tuberculosis, of which 34 were given a X-ray test and sputum samples were collected on the spot. The event was sponsored by Rotary International Foundation and Lupin Foundation and supported by Thane Muncipal Corporation.

Eye and Blood Camp, October 2015

Supervasi conducted a super-successful Eye and Blood Test Camp for the residents of Yeoor forest, Mahrashatra. The event was sponsored by Rotary Club of Thane North and Rotary Club of Thane Premium.

Over 350 people attended and were provided with free eye checkup and blood tests. About 150 patients had their eyes tested and over 100 Spectacles were distributed free of cost. 198 people availed of the free blood test, including Blood Group detection, Thalassemia and Haemoglobin Test.

32 cataract patients were detected and were given free surgery at Laxmi Eye Institute, Panvel (Maharashtra). The camp was managed by over 30 volunteers including Rotarians, Rotractors, Company Volunteers and Tribal Volunteers.

Rotary Lung Camp, September 2015

Supervasi and Rotary Club of Thane North jointly conducted a super-successful Lung Health Checkup Camp on 13th of September 2015, to identify and help treat Tuberculosis (TB) patients in Yeoor. Over 200 local tribals visited the camp, of which 74 suspected cases got a free on-the-spot chest X-Ray done. 8 were identified as critically ill and the remaining were recommended long-term treatment.

Lung expert Dr. Dennis Addo (from Akkra, Africa) from The Rotary Foundation (TRF) visited specially from Africa to understand the scale of the problem, and the logistics of the Lung Camps organized by Rotary Club.

The team consisted of over 20 volunteers, including our team of G1 Volunteers (tribal drop-outs and handicaps trained in community building skills), 3 Medical Doctors from Shivaji Hospital Kalwa, Rotarians of RCTN under the leadership of president Sundeep Kulkarni, and the Supervasi management. We used our DoctorMaa Software System to manage patient records in a 100% paperless manner.

The event was jointly conducted by Rotary Club of Thane North, Supervasi and mainly sponsored by Lupin Foundation and Rotary District 3140. Dignitaries from Rotary Club included DG Subhash Kulkarni, the first lady Swati Kulkarni and Dr. Sandeep Kadam (Rotary District Chief Co-ordinator). MLA Shri. Pratap Sarnaik visited the camp to boost the morale of the youth.

General Health Camp, April 2015

Supervasi and Salvage Nation NGO jointly conducted a Free Health Checkup Camp for the residents of Yeoor on 19th April 2015. Over 100 people attended and were checked for various common diseases. All attendees received basic medications and vitamins supplements and treatment will be followed up.

There were 25 volunteers and 2 Team Leaders appointed to control and manage this camp. The main objective to organized this camp was to improve access of quality medical care to Below Poverty Line (BPL) and Above Poverty Line (APL) families.

Supervasi Volunteers also used the new DoctorMaa Medical System to take down Health and Legal Aid data for approximately 50 residents who required help. DoctorMaa allows personalized Medical Aid to be given to residents.

Vaccination Camp, April 2015

Supervasi collaborated with Rotary Club of Thane Premium and Mumbai Lakers, and conducted a Vaccination and Health Camp for the residents of Yeoor, Maharashtra. Vaccination was conducted for Typhoid and Rubella, by trained nurses and doctors from Rotary Club. Over 350 people attended, of whom 216 people were vaccinated for Typhoid, and 55 for Rubella. Height, weight and eye check-up was also done.

Health data was entered into our DoctorMaa Medical System. Our tribal apprentices visited surrounding villages to create awareness and encourage participation. DoctorMaa allows personalized Medical Aid to be given to residents.

MLA Shri Pratap Sarnaik visited the Typhoid and Rubella vaccination camp. He appreciated the work being done by Supervasi. He spontaneously felicitated Ms. Apoorva Agwan for her efforts, with a shawl and bouquet of flowers, at the request of Locals.
